BEHIND THE BOOK
Written the year I became a father
Paraíso is my ninth book, and the first that took more than a year to finish. Not for lack of wanting to: my daughter was born in the middle of writing it in 2025, and the small hours I used to spend writing became hers instead.
That's why the third part of the book is about building a family. I didn't plan it that way — it was simply what I was living while I wrote it.
It was also the book where I tried something new to find inspiration: a hundred ideas, one every other day, until it was done.

The author
Pablo Camacho
Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, raised in a military family, and is a former U.S. Marine. He writes in Spanish and English about love, loss, and faith. He has written nine books, four in Spanish, and has been recognized by the International Latino Book Awards. He lives in Florida with his wife and daughter.
