HOW THE BOOK IS BUILT

Three parts: love, disillusionment, and hope

Amor gitano moves like a whole relationship: the first kiss, the nights when the other person exists only in dreams, and the beach where you finally learn to stay.

PARTE I

Al ritmo de un beso

To the Rhythm of a Kiss. Falling in love at full burn, and what's left when the fire goes out: poems of home and desire that end in echoes and goodbyes.

Passion · devotion · heartbreak

PART II

Atravesando sueños

Crossing Through Dreams. The only place a lost love is still alive. Each poem is like a different dream, and each waking is a new loss.

Absence · memory · dreams

PART III

Para siempre

Forever. The sea, the sand, and someone new waiting at the shore. Loving again without fear, faith intact, and the past finally put in its place.

Rebirth · hope · faith

The story of the gypsy boy

Between the poems, three prose pieces tell a myth of their own, drawn from the Greek underworld: a kiss that kills, a river that must be crossed, and a beach at the end of the world where lovers meet.

Descenso

The Descent. A beautiful serpent and a farewell kiss.

Estigia

The Styx. Charon, the black river, and an unexpected question.

Campos Elíseos

The Elysian Fields. Where the horizon ends and the story begins again.

PART I · Al ritmo de un beso

Mi hogar · My home

Llego al hogar y el mundo cambia,
el color regresa,
y ahí estás tú,
llena de alegría.

Tus besos me embriagan
y tus abrazos me calientan,

PART III · Para siempre

Diez años · Ten years

Quizás en diez años
nos veremos otra vez
y recordaremos cómo nos amamos.
Tal vez reiremos al darnos cuenta
de que el mundo no acabó,
que no nos morimos de amor,
y que, al contrario,
nuestra historia fue el comienzo
de una vida mejor.

[…]

Quizás en diez años.
Quizás no.

De todos modos,
gracias.

BEHIND THE BOOK

A book for closing chapters

"For the past that transformed me. And to finally close its chapters."

That's how Amor gitano opens. It's a book about letting go, but not from bitterness: every piece takes the shape it asks for. Some moments fit in four lines; others need a letter, a confession, or an entire story.

In the author's note at the end, Pablo sums it up: we are all collections of stories, and someone out there needs to hear ours to find the courage to live their own. How will you write your story?

Amor gitano, or "gypsy love," is a love that does not give up, that journeys freely, and does not let itself be trapped by fear.

Close-up of a smiling man with a full beard, wearing a white button-up shirt, standing outdoors with a cloudy sky in the background.
